Country Joe McDonald, 84, died on Saturday at his home in Berkeley, California.
Bear Family is forever grateful for his many contributions to our 2010 release NEXT STOP IS VIETNAM 1961-2008. Joe wrote the foreword to the set's book and is featured on three tracks including his iconic 1967 song "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die Rag." Joe also provided guidance to the producers of NEXT STOP and even helped with some of the song clearances. He helped make it a better box set.
