Dwight Butcher's most active period of his career was the 1930s. He was primarily a radio and stage performer but recorded for several labels under various names besides his birth name such as Slim Oakdale and Hank Hall. He was a singer/songwriter who wrote songs for such classic performer as Jimmie Rodgers and Gene Autry.
